GOD WILL RESCUE ME ...
There was once a very religous man who lived in a house on the side of a hill above a river. This man (named Alan) believed in God and said that God could do anything if he was asked and that he need not fear for God would always protect him.
One day, the river rose and flooded the area and people scurrried around to go. A passing man in his canoe asked Alan if he would like to get in with him but Alan said, "No. God will save me." So the man in the canoe went away.
A little while later he was forced to climb onto his porch roof because of the rising waters that were now covering his front porch and first floor. Sitting on his porch roof he prayed, "Please God save me." A short time later a man came by in a rowboat and asked him to get in. Alan refused and said, "No. God will save me." And so the rowboat went away.
The waters rose even higher still and now covered the whole first floor and Alan was forced to climb onto his house roof and Alan prayed again to God to save him. A short time later a small motor boat comes along and tells Alan to get in but Alan replies, "No. God will rescue me." So the man went off in his motor boat.
The flood waters were now covering the second floor and the man was forced to climb higher on his roof and a yacht came by and the people in the yacht said, “Hop in.” Once again the man said, “No. God will save me.” And so the yacht went away.
The water is still rising so Alan climbs onto his chimney still praying for God to save him and a short time later a submarine comes along and tells him to get in. "No. It's ok. God will save me Alan replies and so the submarine submerges and leaves.
The water is still rising so Alan clings to the only thing visible and that is his tv aerial. "Please God save me!", he prays. A helicopter appears and comes over and lowers a ladder. The guy in the helicopter tells Alan to get in. Once again, Alan refuses saying that God will save him. So the pilot flew away.
The water finally rises too high and Alan sinks down shouting inside, "God please save me!" But it's too late and he drowns.
Alan dies and goes to heaven where he confronts God. "What happened?", he cries in anger. "I asked you to save me but instead you let me drown! “Why didn’t you rescue me?”
God replied, “Who do you think sent all those boats and the helicopter?”
